'Proud to be a Jack' - The suffering of Jordan Morris as loanee issues heartfelt farewell message to Swansea City

Jordan Morris has opened up on the torment of suffering an ACL injury for the second time in his career.

The American was carried off the pitch on a stretcher midway through the second half of Swansea City's 4-1 loss to Huddersfield Town at The John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

Ahead of the Swans' Championship clash with Coventry City, Steve Cooper confirmed that the 26-year-old's campaign was over as a result of his injury.

Morris will return to America to undergo surgery.

And the attacker has taken to social media to thank those who he worked with in south Wales after joining on loan from Seattle Sounders in January.

"First and foremost I want to thank everyone @swansofficial for making me feel so welcome and at home, especially my teammates," he wrote on Twitter.

"You all made my short experience incredibly special. I of course had more goals to accomplish but I can’t wait to support from afar.

"I’ll always be proud to be a Jack. #YJB.

"The past few days have been difficult for me and my family. This is a tough one to wrap my head around. I’m absolutely gutted but the only thing to do is move forward and focus on my recovery.

"I’m looking forward to getting back with @soundersfc and starting the work to get back on the field.

"I’m so humbled and grateful for all of the messages of support and I promise that I will come back stronger and better. More motivated than ever."

Morris made five appearances for Swansea in his short spell at the Liberty Stadium.
