Choosing a name for your baby can be tricky, particularly if you're after a unique name that will set your little one apart from the crowd. After welcoming their second daughter to the world, parents Kenna and Jack announced her name to their TikTok followers in a heartfelt TikTok video.
The parents, who regularly keep their followers updated on the goings on of their daily lives, shared sweet footage of them cradling their little girl close, expressing their joy at becoming a family of four. Fans were over the moon for them, but not everyone was sure about the name they'd settled on, which put some in mind of a cat or Sesame Street character.
In the clip, the couple, who post under the username @kennabang, revealed: "Everyone meet... Velzy."
A number of followers were left swooning at the unusual moniker, with one person gushing: "Velzy - where the sun shares its warmth on the summers shore, where the wind is warm and filled with magic, there came a soul who Velzy shared in its beauty, a soul of sand and sea."
Another approved: "As a 22-year-old if I met someone named Velzy, I would think it’s so interesting and unique and cute— not that it matters but I love it!"
Some remarked that it was an "up-and-coming name", with ties to legendary US surfboard shaper, Dale Velzy giving it a very cool vibe.
Others just weren't too sure however and felt it sounded more like a name you might give to a cat.
A third person commented: "That's a cat's name but she's cute."
A fourth remarked: "Aw sounds like a Sesame Street character!"
In response to the criticism in the comments section, Kenna replied: "Y'all think I didn't take heat when I named my first girl Tommy?"
