"Proud of our boys" - Andrea Radrizzani speaks of his joy after Leeds United's Premier League bow

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has voiced his pride after the Whites' return to the Premier League.

Leeds narrowly lost 4-3 to champions Liverpool in a pulsating contest at Anfield.

Marcelo Bielsa's side equalised three times but were unable to come away with a share of the spoils, partly due to Mo Salah's hat-trick.

Despite being on the end of a defeat, all associated with Leeds can be rightly proud of the performance which bodes well for the remainder of the campaign.

And owner Radrizzani was suitably impressed by the showing too.

The Italian sent out a tweet last night, responding to a message from United legend Lucas Radebe.

He wrote: "Thank you Chief! Today we were very close to stop the champions, paid a bit the inexperience but very confident and proud of our boys."

Earlier this week Radrizzani spoke at length about the club's long-term prospects and how he is hoping to build a network of clubs, with Leeds at the heart of it.
