Head coach Sabri Lamouchi has spoken of his pride as he prepares for his first season in charge of Nottingham Forest.
The Frenchman replaced Martin O’Neill at the helm of the Reds last month and will go in to the new Championship campaign with the aim of leading the club to a top six finish.
Promotion to the Premier League is the target for Lamouchi after Forest missed out last time out, finishing ninth, eight points adrift of the play-off spots.
First up is a clash with West Bromwich Albion at the City Ground on Saturday, kicking off a hectic month for the Reds.
They have seven games scheduled for August, with a League Cup tie at home to Fleetwood added to league fixtures against Leeds United, Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic, Fulham and Preston North End.
And Lamouchi says he is not looking beyond the opening month as he looks to get his team off to a flying start in the second tier.
“I just want to try to start in a good way,” the former Rennes chief told Sky Sports.
“I’m just focused on August and nothing else.
“I know the target from the club, I know the dream for the fans and I know the history of the club.
“I’m so proud to work for this club and I just want to do my job.”
