He always vowed to make social media a no-go area when it came to his young daughter as he made moves to protect her privacy.
So fans were both surprised and happy to see Gareth Gates relent and give them a little peek into his family life.
He shared some photos of Missy, 8, who he shares with his ex-wife Suzanne Mole.
The pretty youngster looks so grown up as she had fun with dad, and his bride-to-be Faye Brookes, the Coronation Street actress.
Gareth, 35, explained his climb down as he showed her off to the world on Instagram .
He wrote: "I rarely share pictures of my daughter. I never like exposing too much of her, I think it should be her choice when she’s a little older.
"BUT - I had to share this. I can’t believe how beautiful she is. I love you Missy moo. You’re my world. #nofilter #daddydaughter."
Faye and Gareth's big day arrives next year and she no longer has the cobbles to distract her from the planning.
She has left the ITV soap after four years of playing heartbroken Kate Connor.
Faye told The Sun : "It's the end of my contract. It’s come to an end. I want to go out on a high.
"I've had a lot of storylines to be fair. I’ve loved my four years. I’m really grateful to Corrie to leave it open ended because it means I can come back."
The actress tweeted: "Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after 4 fabulous years in Weatherfield it's time for me to explore new opportunities.
"I've loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I'm off to pastures new."
The 31-year-old also said she’s been using Pinterest to make arrangement for her wedding day.
Faye said: "I definitely would like a very epic kind of day. I’m only doing this once so I’m doing it right. Go big or go home! Gareth and I are very, very similar in that sense.
"I have been dreaming about this for so long that in my head I have so many ideas! Pinterest is my best friend right now. I’m on that thing every day. I’m like: 'Yep, love that!'" she added.
