Protesters stage demonstration inside Reform UK's headquarters

PROTESTERS have staged a demonstration inside Reform UK’s headquarters, saying that Nigel Farage is “rolling out the red carpet” for the super-rich while the rest of society suffers.

Activists from the campaign group Green New Deal Rising (GNDR) were pictured dressed up as the Reform UK leader both outside and inside the party’s London headquarters on Friday afternoon.

Campaigners who wore masks of Farage along with the faces of other well-known billionaires like Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos, held books with slogans like “profit over people” and “the art of hoarding wealth”.

Signs were also erected outside the Reform headquarters, which read “fast track: tax breaks super rich only” and “wait here: NHS delays, housing crisis, rising bills, extreme weather”.

Along with the pictures of the demonstration, GNDR posted a statement on Instagram which read: “Kicking off the PAY UP Day of Action in style this morning.

“In LONDON we’re at Reform UK’s HQ where Nigel Farage is rolling out the red carpet for the super-rich - promising tax breaks for his billionaire mates like Nick Candy while the rest of us pay the price with crumbling schools, hospitals and homes.”

The protest comes after Farage said last month his party would reinstate non-dom status for wealthy individuals in exchange for a £250,000 one-off fee, which would be given to Britain’s poorest workers.

However, experts have warned that the policy could cost the UK around £34 billion and that some highly skilled and highly paid professionals would not be able to afford the £250,000.

Farage has also previously been criticised for cosing up with billionaires, as Musk’s father said in December, the Reform leader would get a $100 million donation if it is needed to ensure that the party wins the next General Election.

Musk also suggested that the SpaceX boss might even be prepared to become a UK citizen to be able to do that.

Activists were also pictured outside the offices of the gambling firm Bet365 holding signs which read “pay up” as they accused the company's CEO of banking billions.

The statement from GNDR added: “And in STOKE we’re at Bet365’s offices where CEO Denise Coates has banked billions from online gambling giant whilst gambling addictions soar.

“This is just the start. There’s actions happening all over the UK today.”
