Around 200 women took to the streets near Hamilton's Gregson Park on Friday to protest for their safety at home and in public.
The annual Newcastle march is just one iteration of the many "Reclaim the Night" protests held at the end of October in towns across the world.

Maitland's Reanna Cunningham joined the organising group of Newcastle's march this year, saying she had "quite a passion for women's equality".
The 29-year-old intake worker at Carrie's Place Domestic Violence and Homelessness Services carried a four-metre banner, stating, "Women have the right to live without fear of violence."
