Two protesters have interrupted Liz Truss' speech at the Conservative Party conference.
As the beleaguered Prime Minister tried to win back support of the country and her own party after a challenging fortnight there were sounds of a disturbance in the hall. The cameras showed two women holding up a yellow sign saying "who voted for this?" with "Greenpeace" written underneath.
The PM tried for a few seconds to carry on speaking but it became clear that this wouldn't work. She said: "Let's get them removed". Members of the audience could be seen ripping the fabric sign out of the women's hands while Tory members chanted "out, out, out". Security could then be seen removing the two women.
Following the incident the Prime Minister received a standing ovation from delegates. She then quipped about how the "anti growth coalition" had "arrived in the hall a bit too early" in her speech and that she would be getting to them later.

In her speech the PM made a great deal of focus on growth saying: "We need to grow the pie so that everyone gets a better slice. That is why I am determined to take a new approach and break us out of this high-tax, low-growth cycle.
"We have a huge talent across the country. We’re not making enough of it. To deliver this, we need to get Britain moving. We cannot have any more drift and delay at this vital time."
