Thousands of Armenian protesters took to the street last week demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan over a peace agreement that secured territorial advances for Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh after six weeks of conflict.
Several hundred marched on Parliament in the capital, Yerevan, chanting “Nikol is a traitor” as they felt betrayed after Pashinyan signed the deal.
“This is a big failure and disaster,” Pashinyan said on Tuesday, adding he was taking personal responsibility for the setbacks, but he rejected calls to step down.
