Protesters gather outside home of Health Minister Simon Harris

Protesters have again gathered outside the home of Minister for Health Simon Harris.

Members of the Fingal Battalion Direct Action Group staged the protest this afternoon as part of their “Bring It To Their Doors” campaign.

The group made headlines when they protested outside the home of Mr Harris earlier this year, as well as the house of Minister for the Environment Richard Bruton.

And demonstrators have once again gathered outside the Health Minister's residence in Co Wicklow, highlighting the "overwhelming cost" of the new National Children's Hospital.

A spokesman also appeared to take aim at Mr Harris for his criticism of the Republican group Saoradh.

The political wing of the so-called New IRA marched outside the GPO in Dublin less than 48 hours after journalist Lyra McKee was shot dead.

In a statement the Fingal Battalion described Mr Harris as "one of Ireland's biggest embarrassments".

They wrote on Facebook: "Simon also slated people who commemorated our fallen heroes but Simon needs to know he would never be commemorated in this country as he’s one of Ireland’s biggest embarrassments."

Earlier this month Junior Defence Minister Paul Kehoe called for new laws to stop protests taking place outside the homes of public figures.

Minister Kehoe along with his wife and three children left the house in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford when gardaí were called to deal with an anti-eviction protest.
