Protesters against military rule in Myanmar marched through Manchester city centre this afternoon.
Hundreds of demonstrators joined the peaceful protest which started in Piccadilly Gardens at lunchtime on Saturday (May 1).
Campaigners marched through the city centre holding banners that read 'reject military coup, save Myanmar'.
Other banners said 'stop killing innocent civilians in Myanmar'.
Organisers of the protest said it was held in support of the people of Myanmar in South East Asia, after the military seized control of the country on February 1.
The elected leader of the country has been detained and hundreds of people, including children, have been killed.
Huge protests have been happening in Myanmar and across the world.
Organiser of the Manchester protest and political activist Thant Tun said: "Today's protest went really well.
"We had a good turnout and everything went very well and as peacefully as we hoped for.
"Hundreds of people turned out for it.
"We had people travelling from some distance, with some travelling from Scotland, London and Leeds."
