Protestant group to march in Bathgate this weekend with travel disruption expected

A Protestant group will march in Bathgate this weekend, with police warning that some travel disruption is to be expected.

The Provincial Grand Black Chapter of Scotland will parade in the town on Saturday afternoon.

The event, a 330th Anniversary of Relief of Londonderry Parade, will run from 12pm to 2pm with more than eight bands, including Armadale Flute, Whitburn Flue and Musselburgh True Defenders Flute, taking part.

The route the walk will take is expected to be via Meadow Park, Glasgow Road, North Bridge Street, South Bridge Street, George Place, King Street, Edinburgh Road, Gordon Avenue, Marjoribanks Street, Hopetoun Street and then back to North Bridge Street, Glasgow Road and Meadow Park.

Police Scotland posted on social media to warn people that traffic is likely to be disrupted in these areas between 12pm and 2pm.
