Police were called to a protest in an Irvine street last night amid claims that a sex offender was living in the area.
Officers attended the incident in Birks Hill, Bourtreehill at around 6.40pm after people gathered outside a house.
The protest was filmed by an online protection team and posted on social media.
Cops say no arrests were made.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to an address on Birks Hill, Irvine, around 6.40pm on Thursday, 24 September following reports of a crowd gathered outside.
"Officers attended and the crowd were dispersed."
