Protesters descended on the US embassy in Dublin today in protest of police brutality against black people in America.

Chaotic riots have broken out across the US in recent days following the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a police officer kept his knee pressed against his neck in Minneapolis.

Another demonstration took place outside the US Ambassador’s residence in the Phoenix Park which was attended by Solidarity/ People Before Profit TD Brid Smith.

Similar peaceful protests were staged outside US embassies both in London and in Berlin.

Demonstrators could be seen carrying signs which read “Black Lives Matter” and “I can’t breathe”, words spoken by George Floyd in his final hours.
