Protect your home against coronavirus with these cleaning hacks from This Morning's Queen of Clean

As more and more of go into self isolation and spend more time in our homes a cleaning expert has shared some essential cleaning hacks to protect houses against coronavirus.

With the news that schools across the UK will close on Friday, many families are now preparing a lot more time together as they all try and adhere to Government guidance over the spread of coronavirus.

Many people are also now working from home, meaning that keeping our homes clean and germ free is now more important than ever and with that in mind, This Morning's resident 'Queen of Clean', Lynsey Crombie appeared on the show on Thursday morning with her essential and bargain hacks for helping to protect you and your family from infection.

Her tips took in everything from kitchen surfaces to mobile phones and even toys.

Queen of Clean's coronavirus cleaning tips

*Have a designated place to put all coats the minute people walk through the door. Don't take them into other rooms in the house. Wash them more often and if you can't, steam them.

*Mobile phones - Take case off and wash with warm soapy water. For phones themselves you are fine to use a paper towel, micro fibre cloth on front and back. Apple  have also said are 70% alcohol wipes are fine to use.

*Kitchen surfaces: Disinfect first then use bleach product to lift off. Dont spray and wipe straight away - leave 2 or 3 minutes, wipe and then repeat with another product. Lynsey added: "You want to bring it away from the surface, you need to lift it off."

*Make your own hand sanitizer with 70% alcohol base, aloe vera and tea tree drops

*Change cloths, water and mopheads more frequently

*Plastic toys can be cleaned in dishwasher/bath

*Coloured cleaning system - different coloured cloths for different areas: pink for sink, blue for loo. When done, pop them into bucket and wash. Don't them them lying around on surfaces.
