With eyes on your front door, video doorbells give you some welcomed peace of mind, while also making sure you never miss a delivery again, making them a must-have as we near the holidays.
And it doesn't even cost a great deal for this privilege, especially when you find one at a steal price. Our favorite model from our weeks-long testing, and the only one we gave five stars to, is the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus, and it's almost half price at Amazon for a limited time.
It's the best video doorbell we've reviewed, thanks to crisp audio, clear picture day or night, instant notifications, and an intuitively straightforward app. Forget Black Friday – I'd be surprised to see a better discount than this.
The Half-Price Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is the Perfect Winter Porch Protector
Our news writer, Ottilie Blackhall, upgraded to the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus from an older Ring model and was impressed across the board at how easy and intuitive it is to improve home security.
'It's easy to use, easy to monitor, and the sound and video quality are second to none,' she wrote in her five-star Ring Battery Doorbell Plus review.
The 150-degree vertical and horizontal view is super clear, using a fisheye lens so that you get the full picture of what's happening on your porch. And it doesn't matter if it's night or day, as the color night vision is 'seriously good', almost as clear as when it's bright.
It means you can always clearly see people clearly as they approach the door, protecting you against porch pirates and comfortably knowing who's coming home late at night.
'Faces are clear and easily recognizable, whether they're up close to the camera or standing side-on and facing the door, while the fish-eye lens means it's even possible to identify the size, details and branding of a package which has been left at the door,' Ottilie shared after testing.

Smart noise-cancelling means that voices in event recordings and live, two-way audio are always clear, and uninterrupted by passing cars or heavy weather conditions. Ottilie tested this model on a busy road, and loud vehicles never once drowned out voices.
That clarity is there both ways, too, as people at the door can clearly hear the person talking inside without any delays, echoes, or distortion.
It's one of the best security measures for a house if you'd prefer to secure your home without a security system that can cost upwards of $500+.
The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus works best with a $9.99 a month Ring Home Standard subscription, but there are other Ring plans as low as $4.99. Seeing as it's discounted by $70, you can consider the first 14 months paid for.
But if you're not keen to spend money every month to use your doorbell's best features, including being able to store clips of events, the eufy E340 can do everything without having to pay monthly, and has ultra-clear, 2K picture quality.
The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus has a slightly fiddly setup, and you'll need your own screwdriver and a little bit of patience with the unclear instructions. But luckily, there are countless videos and guides online that can illuminate the process.
The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is available for $79.99 at Amazon for a limited time.
