Prosecutor drops misdemeanor drug charges against Olympic skier Bode Miller

  • Olympic gold medalist skier Bode Miller , 48, had misdemeanor drug charges dismissed by an eastern Idaho prosecutor, despite his arrest on June 6 in Fremont County for alleged possession of psilocybin mushrooms.
  • Miller had pleaded not guilty last week, asserting he was unaware his friend, who was with him, possessed a small quantity of drugs.
  • Fremont County Prosecutor Lindsey Blake confirmed the dismissal, stating new information made it "in the interest of justice" to drop the charges, which are connected to "another active case."
  • Conversely, Fremont County Sheriff's Deputy Jacob Hurt's probable cause statement indicated Miller was found with a white dispensary bag containing 4.1 grams of psychedelic mushrooms.
  • Miller, renowned for his audacious skiing style, is the most successful American male alpine skier in history, having earned six Olympic medals, including a gold in 2010, before retiring in 2017.
