Proposals of Rs 1,000 crore for Uttar Pradesh from 32 NRIs

LUCKNOW: The state has received investment proposals to the tune of Rs 1,045 crore from 32 NRIs during the past few months. MSME minister Sidharth Nath Singh that it was the government’s efforts during the pandemic which led to these proposals, for projects mainly from agriculture, defence and IT sectors.

On Wednesday, the minister carried out a review of the project monitoring group for NRIs. He said that 116 Indian ambassadors had been contacted and a data base of 3,046 NRIs prepared. The government was in continuous touch with these NRIs for proposals.

“Data of potential NRI investors has been received from 16 embassies and high commissions so far. We are expecting data from five countries very soon. UP is working with the foreign ministries of other countries,” Singh said.
