Property stolen from customers at 3 Near West Side Starbucks stores Monday

Police are warning residents after someone stole property from customers at three Starbucks stores within an hour Monday on the Near West Side.

About 1:30 p.m., a male walked away with a cellphone that was sitting on a table at a business in the first block of North Clinton Street, Chicago police said. The phone belonged to a 33-year-old man.

The suspect was described as a male in his late teens to early 20s with a thin build and standing 6-feet to 6-foot-2, police said. He wearing a white and black jacket, blue jeans and white shoes.

A couple of similar incidents occurred at other Starbucks stores in the area.

About 1:15 p.m., a 38-year-old woman told officers she was sitting at a table in the coffee shop in the 500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue when a male grabbed her property off of the table and fled, police said.

A 20-year-old man reported an identical theft about 2 p.m. at a coffee shop in the 300 block of North Desplaines Street, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
