Property firm transforms students' car park into gym

A property firm has left students no excuse for being unfit by replacing their car park with a gym.

Lothbury Investment Management realised the car park under the Powis Place luxury student accommodation in Aberdeen was hardly being used.

So the company had it decked out as a 2,000 sq ft fitness studio instead, making it an even fancier place for scholars to live.

Powis Place has 196 beds in en-suite rooms, a spacious communal lounge, landscaped outdoor spaces, roof terrace and secure bike storage.

Perry Linch of Lothbury Investment Management, which runs the accommodation for Lothbury Property Trust, said: “This conversion has created an exemplary fitness facility adding 2,000 sq ft to the excellent facilities already provided at Powis Place for the benefit of the students. The student accommodation features 196 beds and the new gym been very well received since opening earlier this year.”

Lothbury holds a £120 million portfolio of high value student accommodation in prime locations including East Sands in St Andrews.
