Eshton, the commercial property development and investment group currently based in Leeds centre, is relocating its team to its former office on the outskirts of the city.
Having occupied premises at St Paul’s Street for the last five years, Eshton has opted to migrate back to its previous office - Oxford House in Guiseley - with the move expected to complete this month.
Oxford House is a prominent stone detached property built in the mid to late 1800s. The characterful building is located in the heart of a conservation area and has previously served as a doctor’s surgery and registry office.
Centrally located for all team members and just a two-minute walk from Guiseley train station, the office will undergo an extensive refurbishment before team members reclaim the space permanently.
Eshton has owned Oxford House since 2004, three years after it was founded by brothers James and Jonathan Chapman. They acquired the then dilapidated building from Leeds City Council. The property has been rented out during the city centre years.
James, managing director, said: “As our lease was coming to an end in Leeds we opted to consult with our team about how they prefer to work, including the impact that their commute has on their productivity and workplace wellbeing.
"We discovered that the team would be just as productive and more content working more locally. A combination of this and good timing drove our decision to head back to Guiseley.”
Eshton is involved in all aspects of commercial property development, with specific expertise in retail, industrial, logistics and warehousing sectors. The developer has completed a series of property transactions this year within West Yorkshire, with a continued focus on matching occupiers with quality commercial spaces which suit their strategic growth plans.
