A married couple known for creating luxury homes on London’s Billionaires’ Row have agreed to buy a derelict mansion on the famous street for their next project.
The Evening Standard understands developer Harrison Varma, run by husband and wife Anil and Marisa Varma, is set to purchase Kenmore House, 58 The Bishops Avenue, in north London for just under £20 million.
Property sources said a number of development options could be looked at, including restoration into one mansion, apartments or other uses.
Harrison Varma declined to comment or reveal what is planned for the property, originally built in 1896.
The firm’s previous schemes on The Bishops Avenue include high-end flats with access to a 25m swimming pool, bar and gym. Some of these sold for more than £7.5 million each.
Estate agent Aston Chase’s director Mark Pollack brokered the deal on behalf of the private European vendor.
Pollack said the site “is on one of the most prestigious residential roads in the world”.
He added: “A number of sites have recently traded which will inevitably result in significant investment in the street.”
