Property consultant hires quantity surveyor as associate

Hardies Property & Construction Consultants has appointed David Alexander as an associate in its Edinburgh office.

The chartered quantity surveyor has experience of sectors including private, social and student housing, retail banking and commercial office, education and building conservation.

After graduating from Napier University, he began his quantity surveying career with Edinburgh firm Morham & Brotchie Partnership before studying for a Masters Degree in Technology Management at Stirling University.

He joins Hardies from KLM Partnership following posts with several national consultancies and three years with a leading developer of student accommodation.

Alexander said: “I’m delighted to join a multi-disciplined practice that continues to expand its operations and am pleased to be given an opportunity to play a part in serving clients throughout Edinburgh and south of Scotland.”

Hardies Property & Construction Consultants was established in 1913 and has 450 staff across 34 offices in Scotland after merging in 2016 with Shepherd Chartered Surveyors and acquiring Binnie McKenzie Partnership in Glasgow in 2018.

Hardies partner Murray Warner said: “David brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. His appointment strengthens our team of experts operating throughout Edinburgh and south of Scotland and enhances our ability to service the rapidly evolving quantity surveying requirements of the dynamic local economy.”
