'Proper harsh' - Nottingham Forest fans are still debating controversial goal decision

The wind, the weather and the referee were all that separated Nottingham Forest and a goal.

The key event in Forest's 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers yesterday was a goal. Well, a non-goal.

You must know the story by now. Lolley whipped in a corner, Worrall met it, Forest were up and celebrating - almost ready to kick off before the referee blew the whistle and ordered a retake.

In dramatic circumstances, Forest kicked it in again, but it was easily cleared.

Why the retake? As Lolley hit the initial corner, the wind was rolling the ball. The set piece, by the rules, was struck off as was the resulting goal.

It drew fury in the stadium, and still is the biggest point of contention.

Here's the continued verdict of Reds fans following the decision.

JR: What if the ball had been cleared, and QPR went up the other end and scored? Would they have called that back so we could retake the corner, and chalked off their goal?

Pat: That was the strangest disallowed goal since Jemson scored against united in the FA Cup.

Jack: Proper harsh with the disallowed goal too. Rules maybe rules, but Worrall heads that over and it’s a goal-kick. Onto Cardiff on Tuesday night.

NG18: That disallowed goal sums up beautifully the last 20 years.

Mark: State of that Nottingham Forest disallowed goal. What's he supposed to do glue the ball to the deck!.

Guy: I think we are clutching at straws a little bit . The ball was moving so was rightly dissallowed....

Forests_Finest: They realised the error and put it right.  No problems for me.  Wasn’t a goal.

Jack: Just seen someone say "tHe rEfs dOnt wAnt fOrEst tO gO uP" because of the disallowed goal yesterday. That goal was correctly disallowed. It was a rolling ball. It isn't the referees fault that we can't score a goal I'm afraid. Nor will it be if we don't make top 6.
