Prop bettors predicting end is near for Eli Manning

The prop betting community will wager on just about everything and anything. Football prop bets sometimes get silly, especially around Super Bowl time (the coin flip, the length of the national anthem, etc.), but sometimes they are spot on, taking advantage of the hot topics of the day and seeking to monetize them.

The New York Giants have always been of interest to bettors and this year, there are several prop bets that aren’t ridiculous in nature. These are based on the conversations being conducted in the media these days and, of course, they are centered around the Giants’ quarterback situation. Per betonline.ag:

Will Eli Manning retire after the 2019 season?

Yes      -300     (1/3)
No        +200    (2/1)

Manning has said he is far from done and he has the appearance of a player who is on the verge of a resurgence. The 38-year-old has never missed a game due to injury, is healthy and thanks to an offseason regimen with a baseball trainer, has retooled his throwing arm.

Eli is in the last year of his contract and it is believed that if the Giants don’t extend him, he will seek employment with another NFL team.

Benching Props

First quarterback to be benched

Eli Manning                        2/1
Ryan Fitzpatrick                 3/1
Case Keenum                      4/1
Jameis Winston                   5/1
Jacoby Brissett                    15/2
Jimmy Garoppolo               15/2
Marcus Mariota                  10/1
Derek Carr                         14/1
Joe Flacco                         14/1

Will Eli Manning be benched during 2019 regular season?

Yes      -1000   (1/10)
No        +500     (5/1)

You can’t possibly get a more surer bet than 1/10. We’re almost certain Eli gets benched at some point this year, too. The only way he starts 16 games is if the Giants get out to a fast start and keep going to the tune of let’s say 11-5 or 12-4. That’s unlikely to happen. The odds reflect that.

Which rookie quarterback will win more games?

Kyler Murray          1/3
Daniel Jones            2/1
Dwayne Haskins     5/1

Murray is starting Day 1 in Arizona, but that doesn’t mean he’ll win more games than Jones or Haskins. The Cardinals might win four games this year. If Jones gets to play, let’s say mid-season, he could either match that or better Murray. Washington is not predicted to win many games, either and it’s not known when Haskins will be ready to step in for Case Keenum.
