Proof Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp is among top 10 Premier League managers of all time

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has always been about the collective rather than the individual.

It's why when he picked up the men's coach gong at last month's Best FIFA awards, Klopp was quick to pay tribute to the hard work of everyone at Anfield.

Nevertheless, such an accolade was recognition of his own endeavours.

And the Premier League have done likewise by naming Klopp the Manager of the Month for September having masterminded the Reds' ongoing 100% start to the league campaign.

Liverpool's club record run of 17 successive league wins has been reflected in the monthly gong, with Klopp having now won four of the last seven.

Having also triumphed in August, he became the first manager since Kevin Keegan in 1995 to win consecutive such honours at the start of a campaign.

It was Klopp's fifth award overall, moving him level with Rafael Benitez as winning the most while in charge at Liverpool.

Gerard Houllier won three - one which he shared with his assistant Phil Thompson, who also won one by himself - while Roy Evans and Brendan Rodgers claimed two.

And Klopp's tally has moved him to joint 10th alongside Keegan and Claudio Ranieri in the all-time Premier League list.

Sam Allardyce and Bobby Robson are next with six, with Benitez - having also won while at Chelsea and Newcastle United - and Pep Guardiola claiming seven awards.

Martin O'Neill and Harry Redknapp have both been named Manager of the Month on eight separate occasions, while David Moyes is third overall with 10, behind Arsene Wenger (15) and Alex Ferguson (27).
