Promising Rangers starlet 'makes major decision on Ibrox future'

Bailey Rice is reportedly set to remain at Rangers (Image: PA)

Bailey Rice has reportedly decided to commit his future to Rangers.

The promising midfielder, 19, is thought to have agreed on a new deal with the club amid interest from England and Europe.

Rice was due to be out of contract this summer but according to the Daily Record he has snubbed interest from elsewhere to remain in Glasgow.

It's claimed he will pen a new deal with Rangers later this week.

According to the report, Rice was convinced to sign new terms at Rangers by Danny Rohl. However, the manager is now set to join RB Salzburg.

Rice, though, is not expected to have his stance altered by Rohl's exit as he rejects suitors in Europe and England.

Schalke, Ajax and a handful of Premier League clubs had been linked with the teenage midfielder.

Meanwhile, Rangers are set to receive a £2m compensation fee when Rohl's switch to RB Salzburg is completed.

The Ibrox boss is set to join the Austrian club in the coming days after signalling his intent to make the move.

Rangers have already lined up a move to appoint Derek McInnes as their new manager.

Rangers are expected to pay around £500k for McInnes to take him from Tynecastle.

But Sky Sports claims that fee is four times lower than the amount Rangers will receive for Rohl leaving to Salzburg.
