TV reception returns to Tuggeranong after two-day outage

Television reception has been restored to hundreds of Tuggeranong residents who suffered a two-day outage due to the wet weather.

Several people lost television reception just after 11am on Tuesday due to a power outage at the translator station on Tuggeranong Hill amid a downpour.

By 6pm Wednesday, many residents reported the television broadcast was working but stations needed to be retuned.

It is understood a backup power supply has been used because crews couldn't safely get to the faulty translator station.

"Our crews are facing difficult conditions to access the site after the road deteriorated in recent heavy rain," an Evo Energy spokeswoman said.

"Together with Broadcast Australia, we are working quickly and safely to restore backup power to the translator station and restoration is under way."

The Canberra Times has received several reports from residents unable to access television and internet.
