After 30 years, Andrew Bae Gallery in River North will be closing its doors permanently at the end December.

Owner Andrew Bae announced the decision Wednesday in an email.

“I want to thank you to all of you for it would no be possible without your confidence and support,” he wrote.

The gallery opened in 1990 and focused on showcasing contemporary works from emerging Asian artists with ties to Korea and Japan, according to the gallery’s website.

Through the gallery, artists were able to attract attention from viewers, who could follow their developments, as well as museum curators.

In the near future, Bae said he would be focusing on consulting institutions such as museums and universities.
