Project Semicolon at Glasgow tattoo shop for suicide awareness

Staff at a Glasgow tattoo parlour are doing their bit for suicide awareness.

The team at Kaya Studio in the west end will be offering cut price semicolon inkings next month, as part of a mass event taking place across the UK.

Tattoo shops up and down the country will join the Dumbarton Road-based store on April 5 to promote the Semicolon Project.

The worldwide drive to highlight and prevent has seen millions of people, including celebrities like Selena Gomez, get the special inking, which encourages people to keep going during tough times.

Tom Walker announces new Glasgow tour date for later this year

The semicolon was chosen as the significant symbol for the project, as it's used by writers when they choose to continue a sentence, rather than ending it.

The semicolon tattoos will cost £10 each and all proceeds will go to charity.

Walk ins will be available from 11am till 6pm on Friday, April 5.

If you'd like to donate but don't want a tattoo, they will also be collecting at the studio on the day.
