One of Nottingham Forest’s bright, young talents has been recognised by the League Football Education (LFE).
The LFE have recognised the achievements of 11 footballers who currently play at academy level across the country.
Young Reds goalkeeper Michael Statham has been included in the 11, which is acknowledges the football and academic progress of under-18 players on apprenticeships at current or former EFL clubs .
It is also designed to assess other factors, including involvement in community or charity-based initiatives.
Statham is currently in the second year of his scholarship at Forest, and has impressed while at the Nigel Doughty academy.
“The 11 is directly associated with apprentice reviews that are conducted by our regional officers throughout the season,” said LFE chief executive Sarah Stephen.
“It is a great way to highlight the achievements and progression of talented young footballers who apply themselves to all aspects of their apprenticeship.”
The full 11 recognised by the LFE are: Okem Chime (Barnet), Isaac Whitehall (Blackburn Rovers), Jake Hutchinson (Colchester United), Eiran Cashin (Derby County), Sam Long (Lincoln City), Michael Statham (Nottingham Forest), Harrison Burrows (Peterborough United), Jarvis Cleal (Plymouth Argyle), Joe Nolan (Preston North End), Tom Collins (Scunthorpe United), Joe Gelhardt (Wigan Athletic).
