Producers appeal for extras to appear in MMA scene as part of promising new Irish TV series

Producers in Dublin are looking for members of the public to appear as extras in their upcoming series 'Darklands'.

It's a gritty drama series set in Bray Co Wicklow in the modern day about a young aspiring MMA fighter stuck between his career supporting his family and the seedy world of gangland crime.

Extras co-ordinator for the series Daniel Lloyd, who has credits on productions such as; Vikings, Penny Dreadful, The Secret Scripture, and Oscar nominated film Brooklyn, is looking to fill a building with extras to be in the crowd for an MMA Fight scene on Friday 9 August.

Although the day is unpaid, it's created and directed by Mark O'Connor who released the hit Irish Film Cardboard Gangsters, so it will undoubtedly be a great expereince.

As well as this, lunch and refreshments are provided, as well as a free official t-shirt of the show!

It touches upon themes such as; family, friends, gangs, drugs, love, violence and the MMA Fight community.

There is hope amongst producers that the show will emulate hit drama series 'Love/Hate' in terms of popularity.

For anyone interested in taking part in the exciting project, call Daniel at 0872575995 or email darklandextras@gmail.com.
