Prodigy minder Con Murphy's daughter pays emotional tribute as he dies from cancer

Weeks after the shock suicide of The Prodigy's Keith Flint the band has been hit by another tragic death - that of the group's long-term minder.

Cornelius Murphy, known to the band as Con, passed away peacefully with his wife Jayne and daughter Charlee by his side after a long battle with cancer.

Now, Con's daughter Charlee has paid an emotional tribute to her father following his passing.

"In the early hours of this morning, my dad took his final breaths, peacefully bringing to an end his long fight with cancer - a battle he fought with the bravest determination and the utmost stoicism," she said.

The Prodigy's Keith Flint had 'secret girlfriend' of two years before his death

"Up until and including his final moments, he was surrounded by the incredible friends and family that he was so proud to say he knew and loved.

"I'll miss him so so much. Our beloved husband, dad, son, brother, friend and warrior."

Prodigy had helped Con and his family promote cancer charity  Myeloma UK  over the decade since his original diagnosis.

Paying tribute to the man who was always at Keith's side on tour and at gigs, The Prodigy tweeted on Saturday: "R.i.P Con. You always had our backs and looked after us for years, you got us out of many sticky situations on tour, you were a truly great man, in fact you were actually Superman - the people that knew you will understand what I'm sayin....

"Above all you were the greatest loyal friend to us all man.

"We will truly miss you and never forget you brother. Our love goes out to Jayne and family. The Prodigy boys."

Con died at Thames Hospice in Windsor 10 years after first being diagnosed with myeloma - a form of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow.

His death comes just weeks after the band's lead singer Keith was found dead at home near Dunmow Essex on March 4th and it was later revealed that he had hanged himself.

Keith Flint's Prodigy bandmates break silence with heartbreaking tribute after shock suicide

Keith was 'put on health watch' and appointed a minder by worried Prodigy bandmates after anti-hunt protesters stormed his pub before his death.

The late frontman - who killed himself at his Essex country mansion - was reportedly followed around the clock by a burly bodyguard amid concerns for his welfare following the drama at his pub, The Leather Bottle.

According to The Sun, the establishment became a meeting place for the local hunt, until protesters found out online and turned up to 'make a fuss'.

"It really upset Keith and I know the band and the management were a bit worried for him," a source told the newspaper.
