Probe will expose people behind Amaravati scam, says Mangalagiri legislator Alla Ramakrishna Reddy

AMARAVATI: Mangalagiri legislator Alla Ramakrishna Reddy said the previous TDP government had forcibly acquired land from Dalits in the name of the capital city.

He said he had submitted visual evidence to the Crime Investigation Department to continue the probe in the case.

The MLA on Sunday released video footage in which some realtors were seen striking deals to purchase assigned land in Amaravati much before the announcement of the capital city.

Speaking to the media at the party office, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy said that the then chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, ministers Prattipati Pullarao and Narayana were chief culprits behind Amaravati land scandal.

He said they handed over Amaravati land records to select realtors much before the announcement of the capital city area. He alleged that several IAS officers worked as agents to the ruling party leaders and ditched the dalits.

He said the assigned lands were forcibly acquired by realtors deployed by Naidu and his men before announcement of the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for the assigned lands. He said LPS was announced for the assigned lands owned by dalits only after the lands getting changed the hands.

He said hundreds of acres of assigned lands worth several crores were forcibly taken over by TDP leaders. “We have been contending that Amaravati has been designed for land scandal, not as capital city. We have enough evidence to prove this,” said Alla.
