Probe to reveal how teen died after under-18 rave in Bristol

The circumstances surrounding the death of a teenager who was found in a Bristol hotel after attending a rave at a city nightclub are to be revealed at an inquest tomorrow.

The inquest into the death of fifteen-year-old Jackson Gibbons, from Abersychan, near Pontypool, is to be heard at Avon Coroners Court, Flax Bourton on Monday (April 7)

The hearing will be told how Jackson had come from his home in Pontypool, South Wales, to Bristol over the Easter weekend last year for a night out.

After attending an under 18s rave at Lakota nightclub on Bank Holiday Monday, April 2, he was found dead around 10.45pm in a Premier Inn hotel in the Haymarket, near the Bearpit.

Emergency services rushed to the hotel but the teenager could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 11.45pm.

A post-mortem after his death concluded he had suffered an “adverse reaction” to some pills he had taken earlier in the night.

It is unclear where and when Mr Gibbons took the pills or how he obtained them.
