Probe sparked after woman's body found on Kilkeel Beach in Newry, Co Down

A woman's body has been found on a beach in Co Down this morning.

Police were called to the scene in Kilkeel in Newry on Friday 1 November and are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, Belfast Live reports .

A PSNI  spokesperson said: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a female whose body was discovered on a beach in Kilkeel, this morning Friday 1 November.

"A post-mortem examination is due to take place to determine the cause of death."
