AN investigation has been launched following the suspicious death of a man in Ayr.
Emergency services attended the scene at a property on Glenmuir Place at around 8.10pm on Saturday July 5, after reports that a man had been found seriously injured.
A 42-year-old man was found and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland have confirmed that the death is being treated as suspicious.
Detectives, supported by specialist officers, are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have set up a dedicated Major Incident Public Portal for anyone with information to pass on anonymously.
Detective Inspector Steven Slater of the major investigation team said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this very difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers.
“Officers are carrying out several lines of enquiry and there will be a continued visible police presence in the area. Anyone with concerns can speak to these officers.
“If you were in the area at the time of this incident and saw anything that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch, no matter how small that piece of information might be.
“In particular, I am asking people to check private CCTV or doorbell footage and see if anything has been captured that could be important. Likewise, if you were driving in the area and have dash-cam that could assist, please contact us.”
