Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Rutherglen.
The 36-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he was attacked on Shieldaig Drive at Fernhill Road at around 1:55pm yesterday.
Medical staff at the Royal Infirmary describe his condition as stable.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police enquiries are continuing into this assault and any witnesses, or anyone with information should contact Lanarkshire CID through 101 quoting reference number 1851 of 16th May.
"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
