Probe launched after woman found dead at home in Newry

Police have launched a probe following the death of a woman.

In a statement, the PSNI said the female was 'found at her home in Newry this morning', Belfast Live reports.

A spokesman added: "Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the death of a woman who was found dead at her home in Drumalane Park.

"Police are treating her death as suspicious at this time and a postmortem is to be conducted to establish the cause of her death.

"There are no further details at this time."

Newry and Armagh MP Mickey Brady, Sinn Fein, said: "There is a sense of shock within the local community at the news that a young woman has been killed in an incident in Drumalane. ‬

"Investigations by the police are at an early stage and I would appeal for anyone with info about the incident to contact the police."
