Probe launched after 'suspicious death' of man in Scots home

Cops have launched a probe after the 'suspicious' death of a man at a Fife home.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to an address in Pitcoudie, Glenrothes, to deal with reports of a disturbance at around 7.10pm last night.

It has emerged that a 65-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly after emergency services arrived.

Police say a post mortem is still to be carried out but his death is being treated as suspicious.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 7.10pm on Saturday, 20 February, officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a house in Uist Road, Glenrothes.

"Emergency services attended, however a 65 year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later.

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however the death is currently being treated as suspicious.

“A 29 year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
