A probe has been launched after dogs were allegedly set on deer in a Glasgow park.
Bosses at the Scottish SPCA have said they had received reports of deer coursing 'across Scotland' and of 'suspicious behaviour' at Robroyston Park in Glasgow.
They have warned that it is a crime and causes a 'great deal of suffering' to the animals being chased.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "We have received reports of alleged deer coursing in areas across Scotland.
"Setting dogs on deer, or any wild animal, is against the law and causes a great deal of suffering to the animal involved.
"Most recently we were notified of suspicious behaviour in Robroyston Park in Glasgow.
"If anyone has any information regarding the people responsible then please call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999."
In February there were reports of a gang setting dogs on various wild animals in the Renfrewshire countryside.
Witnesses reported seeing Lurchers being set on roe deer near Ranfurly Castle Golf Club which resulted in the animal being killed.
Other sightings of the gang say the lurchers are held by string rather than a proper lead.
