Probe into 'unexplained' death of woman after police called to house in Whitburn's Cultrig Drive

Police are probing the "unexplained" death of a 43-year-old woman in Whitburn.

Officers were called to Cultrig Drive in the town on Sunday morning following reports of concern for a person there.

A woman was then taken to St John's Hospital in Livingston but she sadly passed away yesterday (Monday).

Police say that the death is being treated as "unexplained" and inquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson said: "Officers attended an address on Cultrig Drive, Whitburn, around 10.30am on Sunday, 20 October, 2019 following a report of concern for a person.

"A 43-year-old woman was taken to St John's Hospital, Livingston, where she sadly passed away on Monday, 21 October 2019.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
