Probe into police officer's arrest of 15-year-old in Bristol city centre

The use of force by a police officer during the arrest of a 15-year-old boy in Bristol city centre is being investigated.

Police arrested and detained the boy in Marsh Street on March 31 after receiving a report of a robbery.

A complaint was then made alleging the boy was assaulted by a police officer.

The complaint is now being investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct following a referral from Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

It is also investigating a complaint about the subsequent care of the boy while he was detained in custody.
