Probe into Neil Lennon video showing ex-Celtic manager at English hotel concludes no Covid rules broken

Police have concluded that covid regulations were not breached after investigating a video featuring ex-Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

A video clip has been circulated on social media apparently showing the former Celtic manager in Halston Hotel in Carlisle on Tuesday night.

The alleged trip came just a day after boozers reopened in England.

Current legislation bans travelling between countries in the UK in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus although travel for essential and work purposes is permitted.

Rules around social distancing are also still in place.

Cumbria Police confirmed yesterday that they had launched a probe into the footage but have now confirmed that they are satisfied no breach of coronavirus regulations took place.

A spokesperson said: "Cumbria Police have made enquiries, including with the hotel, and are satisfied that no Coronavirus regulation breaches in English law have taken place."
