Probe into Glasgow 'garden' body find continues as further details of victim released

Police probing the discovery of a body in a Glasgow 'garden' say the man's death is still 'being treated as unexplained' as their investigation rages on.

We told how emergency crews rushed to Mossbank Drive in the Hogganfield area of the city on Tuesday morning.

A large cordon was still in place on Wednesday morning, with part of Mossbank Drive and Colintraive Avenue taped off.

Officers were seen making door-to-door enquiries.

Meanwhile two NHS nurses were also at the scene on Wednesday afternoon.

They were led by police past the cordon towards one of the properties.

Detective Inspector Suzanne McNulty said: “Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries into the death of a 45-year-old man who was found dead at an address in Mossbank Drive, Glasgow, at around 10.40am on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

“Following a post-mortem examination, his death is being treated as unexplained and investigations remain ongoing.

“There will be a continued police presence in the area as officers conduct enquiries.

"Anyone with information should speak to an officer or report this to us via 101, quoting incident number 0977 of July 13.”

We told how shocked residents woke up to 'police and forensics everywhere' as their quiet street was put on lockdown.

One neighbour, who didn't want to be named, told the Record: "We've only been told that there was an incident but people said the man's body was found in the garden.

"You worry that there's more to it as police and forensics were everywhere and now nurses have been down today."

Another neighbour said: "It's just terrible what's happened, to think a body's been lying there just down the road."

A third added: "We have no idea what's going on, we feel a bit in the dark.

"The cordon is so big that only those who live further away can drive in and our of their houses.

"You dread to think of how the body was found."
