The probe in to a terrifying masked silverware raid at the Scottish mansion of ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has come to an end - with the robbers escaping justice.
Thieves stole medals and trophies from the plush pad, near Bearsden, last March, just a week after Northern Irishman Rodgers, 47, swapped the Hoops for English Premier League side Leicester City.
The balaclava-clad robbers shone torches on his petrified partner Charlotte, 36, and six-year-old daughter Lola as she slept in the master bedroom.
They managed to activate a panic button, escape to the bathroom, locking themselves in, and phone Rodgers, while the crooks made off with mementos from his trophy-laden stint at Parkhead, between 2016 and February 2019.
A masked man posted a picture of himself outside the rented property on social media, after it was broken into, showing half of his face and a wedding picture of the Brendan and Charlotte hanging on a wall inside.
We told previously how detectives hoped the picture would help them track down the crooks behind the raid.
Police Scotland said at the time: "We have been made aware of an image in relation to an ongoing investigation.
"Enquiries will be carried out. Anybody with information is asked to contact police."
But police have now revealed that the investigation is at an end - with no arrests having been made, and no loot being recovered.
And the force said it will reopen the probe, should more information about the break-in come to light.
A spokeswoman said: "Following a full investigation, enquiries are now complete.
"No arrests have been made but should further information become available, it will be assessed and investigated."
Speaking in the aftermath of the 3am raid, which took place while he was in England, Rodgers said: "They ransacked the bottom of the house then went upstairs."
He said his family's safety was the most important thing, adding: "They’re fine and they’re safe.
"They called me but I didn’t hear it and when I woke I saw the missed call."
Rodgers' Leicester City side were sitting third in the English Premier League when football was suspended due to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were brought in to stop the spread of the deadly COVID-19 strain.
