An investigation into the conduct of seven police officers who detained a man who later died has been completed.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) confirmed to the ECHO details into the death of Robert Evans will be released soon. Mr Evans, 59, was found dead at his home in Vauxhall on Sunday, July 3 after he was detained by police on Eldon Street on June 28.
At the time his cause of death was yet to be established and was being treated as unexplained. Merseyside Police referred itself to the IOPC due to the contact officers had with Mr Evans before his death.

Six officers faced allegations of potential gross misconduct and were also under criminal investigation for potential assault offences in relation to their use of force on Mr Evans. A seventh officer is also being investigated for potential misconduct.
An IOPC spokesperson told the ECHO: "Our independent investigation into the conduct of seven Merseyside Police officers involved in the stop and search of Robert Evans is now complete and we are currently finalising our decisions.
"We are in the process of contacting the relevant parties, including the family and force. We will publish details of our findings once we are in a position to do so. Our thoughts remain with Mr Evans’ loved ones and all those affected by his death."
IOPC Regional Director Catherine Bates previously said: "We are independent of the police and our investigation will be thorough to ensure we understand the circumstances of Mr Evans’ interaction with officers on June 28. Upon conclusion of the investigation, we will decide whether any disciplinary proceedings, or referral to the Crown Prosecution Service, are required.
"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, and all those affected, at this sad time."
