A teacher at a school under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's (BMA) jurisdiction accused of child molestation in 2013 has been found guilty in a disciplinary probe, Pijaya Nagvajara, deputy city clerk, said yesterday.
The BMA had received the probe findings by the director of the Klong Toey district office which supported the claims, said Mr Pijaya. This meant the teacher was likely to be dismissed from his job but whether he would still receive any benefits would be decided by a sub-committee of the BMA on Aug 21, he said.
The final decision on the fate of this teacher will later be reached at the BMA's plenary meeting set for Aug 28, he said. As for another case lodged with the Tha Rua police station against the teacher in July, a different disciplinary probe was still under way, said Mr Pijaya.
The teacher was identified in previous media reports as Timtong Panya-in, 26, who on July 20 reported to the Tha Rua police after the mother of a 16-year-old student lodged a complaint with police the previous day alleging him of raping her daughter. He denied the allegation. He ended up in jail because the court refused to grant him bail fearing he might try to intimidate witnesses.
