An investigation has been launched after a man was injured in an accident during repair works at a school and later died.
The man, aged in his 40s, was injured on Friday, August 16 after the accident at Kildorrery National School in north Co Cork.
He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced dead less than a week later, Cork Beo reports.
The national school remains closed this week after the tragic incident, with alternative plans for students currently being made.
The Health and Safety Authority confirmed it is investigating the incident.
A spokesperson said: "The HSA inspector went to the scene shortly after the incident on August 16th, and the serious accident is currently under investigation by the Authority."
