Probe after man films himself inside new Merseyside Police headquarters

Video footage shows a man breaking into the building of the new Merseyside Police HQ on St Anne Street.

The footage, which was posted to YouTube, shows explorer Kain Hogg, 21, crawling underneath a fence surrounding the future site of the force's base, which is currently under construction.

The video shows Hogg going undetected by "dog handler security" and entering the premises on Monday, June 4 at around 3am.

The 21-year-old documented the incident himself with the aid of a selfie stick and a Gopro camera.

Once inside he captures the Merseyside Police emblem and makes his way up a number of floors eventually finding his way to the roof.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kain said: “I honestly don’t know how I pulled this off without seeing the guard dog or the security.”

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing in relation to a YouTube video circulating of a man reportedly trespassing on the future site for Merseyside Police Headquarters off Scotland Road, Liverpool.

“This location is currently in the hands of the contractors, who provide their own site security.”
